From 2009 to 2017, I specialised in pandemic preparedness and public health emergency planning
(Auckland Regional Public Health Service – Programme Supervisor).

Organisational planning, workforce development, assessment and response.
Regional/national liaison role, and recurring guest speaker at Masters programmes, and Public Health Summer School (Uni of Otago).

Public health lead representative for assessing Auckland international air and maritime Points of Entry against the WHO International Health Regulations – including pandemic preparedness.

Public health representative at regional Health, Civil Defence and Airport committees.
One of four NZ reps – WHO Oceania public health risk assessment training.
Attended Ebola preparedness summit 2015 (only NZ rep.) in Atlanta, USA.
Design, delivery and evaluation of all interagency public health exercises, including leading annual port/airport exercises and Civil Defence exercises. Co-facilitator of CIMS 4-level training for DHB and Public Health managers.

2004-2007 – Recruitment consulting & head office compliance (national lead for government funding for long-term unemployed workers) (Sydney, Melbourne).
2007-2009 – Vocational training specialist (Auckland).

I am also passionate about personal and professional preparedness,
resilience, flow, and work-life balance.

Bought a bare 10-acre lifestyle block in Taupō in late 2017 – built lifestyle farm, house and home office (moved in mid-2019).
Married 17 years, one school-aged child. Member of primary school Board of Trustees 2019-2022.
Completed five marathons, 2012-2019.
Completed Tauranga Half Ironman 2009, and Taupō Half Ironman 2020.
